DUBLIN POLICE.
<«i CONDUCT APPLAUDED. ''Times'—'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Last Night, 7.15 o'clock.) LONDON, Sept. 2. The conduct of the police during the riots has been warmly supported by Unionist, Nationalist and Independent, newspapers, but the Freemasons' Journal demands an inquiry. In the opinion of the citizens of Dublin the' police acted throughout with discretion, courage, and splendid devotion to duty. The streets were packed with peaceable, and furious citizens, and when the police charged'the rioters took refuge amongst the innocent citizens, and t it was impossible under thp circumstances--for police to avoid hitting the wrong man.
