MR McINTOSITS PROPOSAL. 'Times'—'Sydney Sun' SiKcial Cables. (Received Last Night, 7.15 o'clock.) LONDON', Sept. 2. The scheme proposed by Mr H. D. Mcintosh, the well-known fight promoter, has been warmly welcomed by the majority of amateur associations in Britain, but the Central Council is disposed to insist on England competing apart from the Dominions. Lieutenant Blair, secretary of the Council, in a personal interview, said that England ought to regain her lost laurels without the assistance of the Colonies. If she won tho supremacy with the assistance of Australia, European countries would say: "You could not do it alone." The Duke of Westminster will submit Mr Mcintosh's proposal to the Executive on Wednesday. [Mr Mcintosh wrote to the Times suggesting the formation of a scheme, by which the best athletic talent in the British Empire would be given every facility for training and preparing" to compete in the Olympic Games.] OBJECTS OF THE FUND. (Received Last Night, 10.6' o'clock.) LONDON, Sept. 2. Tho Olympio Fund authorities affirm that nobody will withdraw from his employment. ~ The fund will be devoted to the securing of training facilities and expert advice, the'strictest amateurism being maintained.
