Mr W. E. Bidwill lias been re-elect-ed chairman of Stewards of the Wairarapa Racing Club. The friends of Mr A. M. Wilkinson, of Tauherenikau, will be pleased to hear than since he went to Napier his health has greatly improved. The death occurred at Palmersfcon North on Wednesday of Mr John Small, a highly-esteemed farmer of the district. He had been ailing for the last twelve months. Mr D. C. Oameron 3 of Dunedin, Grand Lodge Organiser of the Good Templars, is at present in Masterton. He attended a meeting of the local lodge last night. A private message from Te Awamutu records the death of Mr E. Bray, formerly of Feilding, and mother of Mr William Bray, at one time resident in Masterton. 'Mr J. Georgeson, officer in charge of the Masterton Labour Department, proceeds to Gisborne to-day on annual leave. Mr R. T. Bailey, Inspector of Awards of the Wellington office, will arrive in Masterton and take charge of the local office for the next fortnight. The death is announced from Wimbledon of Mr John Sergeant at the age of 74. The deceased gentleman was one of the oldest settlers a£ the Coast, and his demise will be widely deplored. A very old Onehiurga resident, Mr Charles Constance, died on Saturday night after having heached his 76th year. He traded for a long period on the Mantikatt Harbour in his own ketch.
