NEW YORK STATE LAWYERS RULED OUT. BRITISH JUSTICE AND BRITISH FLAG CHEERED. (Received August 28, 11.50 a.m.) MONTREAL, August 27. Judge Globensky ruled out the New York State Attorney's representatives when Thaw's motion to drop the habeas corpus proceedings were mentioned. There were hundreds of' spectators in Courty chiefly Americans, who cheered British justice and the British flag. Thaw bowed theatrically three times. The United States Attorney's representatives refused to make a statement but declared! thftt such an outburst might have been suppressed in any Court. The habeas corpus motion was* adjourned. THAW IN GAOL. (Received August 28, 1 p.m.) MONTREAL, August 27. & _ Judge Globensky granted a discontinuance of the habeas corpus motion,' and remanded Thaw to gaol. The New York lawyers regard this as ii complete victory. '
SCENES IN COURI\ A GREAT DEMONSTRATION. (Received Last Night, 10 o'clock.) MONTREAL, August 28. Judge Globensky referred to the disgraceful scene in Court when it announced that the New York lawyers would be refused! a hearing. Never in his experience had he seen such disgraceful conduct by women and men. If it was repeated he would order the arrest of all concerned. Afterwards, as Thaw was being removed to ga,ol', hysterical womert cheered aind shouted "Hurrah for British'justice." . The newspapers compare the demonstration. with that accorded Royalty. Thaw lias issued! a statement to the Press thanking the Canadians for their fair play and sympathy.
