THE LABOUR PARTY.
The Masterton Labour' Farty has resolved to sever its connection with the United Labour Party. It has apparently no sympathy, however, with the Social-Democratic Paarty, for it has decided to act independently of both organisations. What- object it has in view in remaining unidentified with the main institutions we cannot pretend to say. Possibly it is desirous of showing the Labour leaders that none of them are working on the right lines, and that laljour in the country wants something hotter than was evolved at the Unity Congress. On the other hand, it is suggested that probably jfche local, branch is desirous of supporting "Liberal" candidate at the next election, and it feel's that if it continues to identify, itself with the United Labour Party, it.will-,be impossible do-so. •It may even be ' that, raoogni'sing that the Reform Government is giving Lab,«rac, the promised "square, deal," it intends supporting Mr Massey. Time will tell what the objective is.
