A DAMNING REPORT. JBY SYDNEY PROFESSOR, (Received Last Night, 11.50 o'clock.); \SYDMiJY,'^ugu^; ; 27. f ; i: ': A report by Professor Irvine; on the question of the housing of workers, tabled iii the Assembly, contains i .damning evidence of overcrowding, resulting in unhealthy in Waterloo, Surrey Hills, Redfern and other; portions of the city. The report' mentions one house, which is occupied By seven families, and several of - only one room, where all the household duties We performed. The children in crowded areas are driven frequently into the streets. Though healthier than the crowded houses, the corrupting influences of street life need no comment. Referring to badly lighted lanes, tße: report says that juvenile and adult immoralities are said to be practised with little or no check. •
