POSITION IN ULSTER.
POLICE INQUIRY REFUSED. VOLUNTEER FORCE INCREASING .(Received Last Might, 10.50 o'clock.) LONDON, August 27. The Viceroy of Ireland has refused to grant, without Parliamentary authority, an inquiry into the oonduct of the police at Londonderry. The membership of the Ulster volunteer force is steadily increasing throughout the province. The General StajL or Advisory Board is constantly m touch with the various units. The rfiie clubs of Ulster have plied for a renewal of their affiliation with the Society of miniature Rifle Clubs. Lord Aberdeen expressed the Irish Government's regret that they are unable under existing circumstances to approve.
