The following is the Wairarapa team to play Taranaki, at Carterton, next Wednesday:—Full-back, A. Tait; three-quartern, W. Darvill, Sievers, Strang; five-eighths,' G. Ross, C. Groube; half-back, Ball, wingforward, Brough; forwards, Golder, Johnson, McKenzie, Clarke, Hodge, Desmond, D. Ross. Emergencies : Forwards, Dixon, Wisha'wj backs, Matson, Mason, Yates.

On Wednesday next the most important representative Rugby match of the season, as far as Wairarapa is concerned, will be played at Carterton, when the local representatives meet Taranaki. Notwithstandng that the visitors are the holders of the Ranfurly Shield and so champion team of the Dominion, a good game may be anticipated. The Wairarapai representatives have so far this eea r son defeated; Hawke's Bay, Manawatu and Marlborough. Club football in the Wairarapa will be completed this afternoon when a match will be played at Carterton between Gladstone and Carterton for the Redmond Cup. This trophy, which is held by the winners of the Wairarapa Rugby Championship, is likely to create keen competition. Both teams will be fully represented in to-day's match, and a fast and interesting game may be expected. Besides the Taranaki v. Wairarapa fixture, representative matches to be played in the Wairarapa this season include games against Wanganui and Wellington. The Wanganui match will be played prior to the locaj. representatives leaving for. the southern tour, arid the Wellington fixture the Saturday after their return. Itis expected that the latter match will be played in Master ton. This fixture would no doubt draw a record gate if played on the old show grounds. .
