MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday last in tho A. and P. rooms, there being present Messrs O. C. (jooper (President), W. D. Watson, C. A. Cameron, J. C. MoKellop, J. T. Dagg, K. Harper, G. C. Siiimierell, A. G. Filnier, E. G. Allen, J. ii. James, W. H. Buick, J. Morris. G. ti. Shaw, A. ,i. Percy, Guy Williams, W. J. Welch, I>. McGregor, J. Strang, H. Evans, D. Foreman, W. Cooper, R. Rayner, E. Perry, I). Caselberg and It. Gray. .-Tho proprietors of theN.Z. Shipping and Commerce asked for a descriptive article of tho Association's inception and progress'. —On the motion of Mr Surrimerell, it was decided that the request be acceded to. The 1) reparation of the article was left in tho hands of the President, Vicej> resident and secretary. The committee appointed to deal with the question of the purchase of crockery, reported that an order had been placed with Messrs J. G. Raine and Co., Wellington, for crockery to .•the Value of between £9O and £l9O. It was expected that the crockery would arrive about January. • •
. The report of the meeting of the General Committee was read. The question of a water supply had been discussed with the . Borough Engineer, w'ho k made\ certain proposals. The caretaker's report was also dealt with. >
The, Finance Committee's report Avas read. The expenditure for- the month was reported to be £584 12s sd,_ and the receipts £415 18s \ 3d. ThSre was debit balance at date of £275 Os 2d. Accounts amounting to £34 6s 6d were recommended for payment. The secretary was .instructed to endeavour,to get in outstanding subscriptions. Two new members were elected to the Association.
The President,urged that oiembers should make a point of being present at the lecture to be given by -Mr Beddoe, Canadian , Trade Commis-; sioner.
