ALLEGED TERRORISM IN THE SOUTH. (By Telegraph—Prm Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Hon. James Allen, Minister of Defence, read a . statement to the Houise this afternoon - from Colonel Smythe, Officer Commanding * the Canterbury district, concerning alleged terrorism in connection with thd Defence Act. There had been a, cerr tain amount of terrorism going on, especially at Runanga, where youths willing to serve in the defence forces, were afraid to' do so, owing to the treatment they were subjected to by their fellow-workers. The Minister hoped this would now cease, and that "the boys would be allowed to do their duty in accordance with the law
