A GERMAN SCANDAL.
DIVULGING OF SECRETS, (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) BERLIN, August 3. At the trial, of military officials charged with revealing secrete to Krupps, Brand (Krupp's agent), gave evidence that his special duty was to ascertain after contractors' prices. Liebknecht's' knowledge of the affair was derived from von Metzen, a former chief of the bureau, who kept a number of secret reports, and warned witness that he interido.l to use theai. Brand haa been under the strictest observation of detectives for three, months. He is not an educated man, but highly intelligent. He served in the Technical Department of the army. Brand gave evidence that he was quite unconscious of doing wrong. His evidence was less incriminating against officers than at the preliminary enquiry. He was sharply cross-examined in regard to the discrepancies in his evidence.
