S. R. LANCASTER'S SALE.
The annual sale of high-class dairy stock, offered on account of Mr S. R. Lancaster was conducted by Dalgety and Co-, and New Zealand Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., in conjunction, on Tuesday and Wednesday, 29th and 30th July, at the homestead 1 , " Fitzherbert; Palmerston North. A representative gathering of local and outside buyers was present and a very satisfactory sale resulted. The cattle were in good condition, and all arrangements were very complete. Cows in milk sold up to £ls 15s, the line of 55 averaging £lO 4s. Grade Jersey and Jersey cross springers sold up to £2O, the line of 145 averaging £lO lis Bd. Grade Holstein cross cows sold up Ho £ls, the line averaging £7 16s Id. Pedigree Jersey bulls sold tip to 30gns the M averaging 18gns. Grade Jersey bulls sold up to lOgns. Time did not permit to offer the- Shorthorn cows, and these, together with some very choice Jersey, Holstein and Shorthorn heifers will be offered at a subsequent sale in about three weeks' time.
