THE "PAHIKO" SALE. , Messrs Dalgety aa.J Company Ltd., report: At the Otaki Town Hall on. "Wednesday, we offered on account of Messrs Monckton and Addington their well-known "Pahiko^ 5 estate. The property} -which is admirably situated ~ being tfbout 1J miles from Otaki Hallway Station—attracted a .niamber of buyers. The property had. been carefully subdivided and cut up - into oonveniently-sized sections, ranging from 1 to' 127' acres. - Bidding at auction was dull, atld only three sections were disposed of under the hammer. After the sale, a much keener inquiry set in, and at the end of the day seven -sections found Aew owners: • Keen inq'uiry is still coming in forquite a .number of the passed-m lots, especially in regard to the swamp, land. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltcl. j re-! port their usual fortnightly sale at Eketahuna on Friday, August Ist., when there was.only a small attenda<noe, and a fair yarding of stook, whicih realised the following prices:—Steep: Mixed hoggets 0s 7d to 10s 4d, good mixed hoggets 12s 4d to 12s 9d f.m. breeding ewes lis 6d. Cattle: Mixed weaners 355,' empty heifers £3, £3 7s 6d to £3 10s; springing heifera £5. . The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co:, . Ltd., report on their usual fortnightly sale, held' yesterday: Wo offered a fair yarding of sheep, and a good entry of dairy heifers and cows.. Sheep were eas'ier in price, (tespecially ewes in lamb. Dairy heifers are not nrach sought after and we turned out gome good lines unsold.
