LATE COMMERCIAL.

CLEARING SALE AT MARTINBOROUGH. Messrs W. and G. Turn bull and Co., Ltd., (late Jas. Macintsoh and Co.), report having held a very successful clearing sale at Dry River, Martinborough, on Tuesday, 20th July, when they sold of account of Mr Alexander Beatty, his herd of 54 dairy cows (which he lately bought from Mr Wm. Waugh), also 312 fat lambs, 72 2-tooth wethers, and 130 store iambs on account of a neighbour. There was a very good attendance of buyer®, and bidding was very keen throughout the sale, consequently the cowg brought the very satisfactory average of £8 17s 6d. The prices realised were : August calvers £9 to £l3 ss, Sept. calvers £6 to £9, 15s, 1 2-yr Jersey bull £3, 1 4-yr Jersey bull £4 15s. The sheep were also well competed for, and the fat lambs were bought by a representative of one of the freezing companies operating in the Wairarapa at 17 s Id; while the wethers fetched 19s 8d —being secured by a local grazier. The line of lambs sold on account of a neighbour realised 12s 9d, being purchased by a Dyerville settler. Milk cans 28s each, and 150 bushels seed Garton oats 3s Id, and 100 bushels seed dun oats 3s 2d.

JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. JOHNSONVILLE,- Last Ni^t. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd,, report on their Juhnsoimlle sale as follows: A good yarding of prime cattle and. sheeplpame forward, the demand was good, and prices were very fair. Some extra prime heavy bullocks and sheep made record prices, and the bullocks made from £l9 10s to £2O to £2l j and the sheep .realised as follows: Wethers 45s to 465, ewes 38s to 425. Other cattle and sheep realised the follow-ing-prices: Prime heavy bullocks £l2 10s to £l2 17s 6d, lighter £ll to £ll 12s 6d, prime cows £8 17s 6d and £6 10s to £6 15s, prime £3l7s 6d, prime heavy wethers 265 ; to 26s 6d, extra prime 27s 3d, prime 27s 3d, prime wethers 245, extra prime heavy ewes 26s'9d, prime heavy ewes 23s to 23s Id, to 23s 6d, pirme lambs 12s 6d to 14s.
