HUMAN "LEOPARDS."
ON THE GOLD COAST. (Received July 30, 11 a.ai.) LONDON, July 29. "In connection with the trial of members of the Human Leopards* Society on the Gold Coast, the. evidence showed that in order to prepar® medicine with a special virtue human fat was required, This led to m astounding number of rnurdem. Members of the Society, disguised in leopards' skins, usually attacked their victims from behind, and thrHfifc ■ three-pronged forks into their necks, severing the spinal cord. ,- x Many of the victims were eaten, o6oked with rice, or raw, according [Sir WilUant Griffith, Chief Justice of the Gold Coast colony, reached London early last month. He had been conducting trials of a hundred natives belonging to the so-called "Leopard Society," for practising cannibalism; It was-stated at thatime that Sir William sentenced;forty natives to be hanged, and that many were deported.] ,
