AUSTRALIAN WINS ELKINGTON CUP. (Received July 16, 1i.40. a.m.) * LONDON, July 25. At the National Rifle Association meeting at Bisley, Harrison, of Australia, won the Elkington Challenge Cup. Sergeant Ommundsen won a silver cup in the same event. COLONEL OHAYTOR QUALIFIES FOR KING'S PRIZE. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, July 26. Colonel Ohaytor, of New Zealand, with a score of 191, has qualified for the King's Prize. THE KING'S PRIZE. WON BY A CANADIAN. (Received this morning 12.40 o'clock.) LONDON, July 27. . Private Hawkins, of Canada, won the King's Prize, with a score of 330, Sergt Femby, with a score of being second. Blacklow, of Australia, who scored 323, was sixth; and Halliday (321) eighth; Macalister scored 319, and Harrison 318. The four last-named, who are Australians, won a badge and £lO each. Five other. .Australians, "Semmins, Cross, Green, Garrity and Calliford, won a badge and £5 each. Instead of ten shots at the three last ranges of the King's Prize, the competitors fired fifteen shots at 900 yards and 1000 yards. Ommundsen, firing ten rounds in thirty seconds, was one point ahead of Fenby at the end of the shooting at tlhe 900 yards range. Ommundsen unaccountably missed the target in his seventh shot at 1000 yards, and finished with 324. \ Meanwhile a crowd had gathered round Hawkins. His.lost shot required an inner to tie with Fenby. but he scored a "bull." Hawkins' range scores were 100, 48, 46j 68, and 68. The winner is a Toronto lawyer. He has been shooting for six years, but this was his first visit to Bisley. He secured a place in the Canadian team a3 a substitute for an absent man. Throughout he shot with the greatest sangfroid, smoking between the ranges and chewing gum while firing. He was accorded a great reception, the Canadians carrying him in a chair around the camp. Fulton won the St. George's Vase, with a score of 119. Harrison, of Australia, won tihe Ek, kington Challenge Cup. The Duohess of Wellington sented the prizes. - ~ The Australians were greatily cheered on receiving the Mackinnon Cup.
