FOOTBALL.
STOCK AGENTS v. BANKS & LAW. The annual- football match,' Stock and Station Agents ri" Banks'and. Law, was played on the old showgrounds in Masterton yesterday ' Afternoon, there Being a big attendance. The game was the most in- 1 teresting exhibition of Rugby witnessed in Masterton for some time, and the onlookers loudy applauded the efforts of the various players. The match was one that will be remembered for years—the excellent footwork by Jordan, the safe tactics adopted by Logan, at full-back, the Herculean efforts of McKenzie, of the Banks and Law, kept the Stock and. Station Agents extremely busy. The result of tire game—Stock and Station Agents 9; Banks and Law 3 was by no means a fair indication of the strength of the teaigs, as on many occasions the defeated team should have added to their score. Williams was the most prominent in the winners' forward division, and on two occasions showed great turns r of speed, a score resulting each time. Thrupp also scored for the winners. ! Iggulden was the pick of the backs, and played with great skill. The Banks and Law had a number of "passengers" in the team, but, a splendid pack made up for this deficiency. They hooked the ball often, and when they did not, the lock managed to get his lusty arms round it, only to be brought heavily to the ground, amidst laughter. "Bob" McKenzie scored the only points for his side, kicking a splendid goal from quarter way. Of the losers McKenzie, Jordan, Hoar and Logan played well, the last-named putting in some good work.
