WAIRARAPA 3; HAWKE'S BAY 2
Wairarapa senior hockey representatives created a surprise at Featherston yesterday, when they defeated the Hawke's Bay representatives, who are to play against Wellington on Saturday next by three goals'" to two'. The Wairarapa team played remarkably well, and are to be congratulated on the great figlit they put up against a first-grade team. At no stage of the game was tfye Wairarapa team outclassed, and in the second spell they more than held their own. Early in the first spell Barr was badly hit, and had to leave the field, Burrows going up to half, and Jim Fisher playing in goal. Ordish was also knocked out. Russell, Ordish and Fisher scored goals for Wairarapa. E. Hanley, a member of the Wairarapa representative team, has been nominated for the New Zealand team to play against the English team during their forthcoming tour of the Dominion.
