FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
SOCIAL AND DANCE. The Masterton United Friendly Societies' annual social and danoe was held in the Masterton Drill Hall last evening, there being sixty couples present. The floor was in exoellent order, and dancing, to the muSfe of Mr F. McKenzie's orchestra, was kept up till the early hours of the morning. Arrangements were capably carried out by the energetic secretaries (Messrs A. V. Faulkner; and S. J. O'Regan) and their committee. A sumptuous supper was provided by the members of the Lodges, and was tastefully laid out by the ladies committee, consisting of Mesdames Shackleton, Gourlay, Wilton, Faulkner and O'Regan, and MissftS Shacj kleton (2).
