FOOD AND DRUGS CONFERENCE
Da- J; jS. Purdy, the Chief Health Oflioer of Tasmania; states that' the recent Australian Food/: and Drugs Conference has been most successful in drawing up uniform regulations and standards for &doptip|| by all the States. Speaking of tire conference to a representative of the Hobart Mercury the other day, he said: —"The conclusidns which were come to were such as to satisfy the aible requirements of the commercial representatives, and at the same time were in accordance with the views of the chief medical officers of the varjous States and of the CbmAustralia is in the proud; position amongst the outlying portions of the Empire of having, led the van;a's'regards for the control of the manufacture"and of foods and drugs. : Imitation has always been' the sineerest form of flattery, and. the fact that. New Zealand, after the 1916 conference; practically adopted en bloc the recommendations of th* Australian conference, is a precede** ftr the Dominion again adopting 4h» tonolusiona of the second, or MM, #p«ference."
