AMUSEMENTS.
TOWN HALL . ICTURES. A record crowd was present at the Town Hall, Masterton, last evening to "witness the screening of the current ■programme. The picture of great interest was the Kalem Company's masterpiece, "Wives of Jamestown." The plot show s Bryan O'Sullivan, a stalwart Irish lad of humble birth, who, while passing through the estate of his peer, rescues the Lady Geraldine, whose boat has capsized. So frank and cordial is tilip Lady Garaldine that Bryan, forgetful of lr's station, falls madly in love with her. She amuse s herself by encotu?/ ing him. < Knowing Ihe cannot gain his wish, he sends a message of fua-eu--?! to her, and takes passage for Ai" "- ica. He settles at Jamestown, V ginia, where he becomes John Pierce, colonist. A few, years after these events, Lady Geraldino's castle is besieged by Cromwellians. She is sent, with others, to .be sold as wives to t" • Jamestown colonists. John, stam ing quietly by. is -suddenly .startle ' by the arrival of Lady Geraldine with, her unhappy companions. She sees lie is honest, and offers to become his wife. Later she discovers that John Pierce, her husband, is none other than Bryan O'Sullivan, and love claims its own. This splendid programme will be shown for the last ti m e thi s evening, and lovers of good entertainment should not fail to' wit-ncs'-">liis programme. A special attrndion is promised for the change to iiiko pi iico to-morrow evening.
