Dr Crawford ,of Wanganui, is at present on a visit to Masterton. Tom McGrath, who lias been acting as "coach" for the Bush Boxing Association, returns to Sydney next week. Mr Pierce C. Freeth, formerly managing editor of the New Zealand Times, and lessee and editor of the Manawatu Daily Times, has been appointed editor of the Christchurch Star. Mrs H. C. 0. Murray, daughter of the late Sir John Logan Campbell, »vas married last Wednesday in Melbourne to Mr George Humphreys, of Christchurch. , An old resident of the Hutt Valley, Wellington, Mr George N. F. King, passed away at his residence in the Esplanade, Petone, on Monday, at the age of 76. Deceased was a passenger by the sailing ship Wild Duck, coming out to the Dominion over fifty vears apo, and has since then resided in the Hutt Valley. Mr W. E. Collins, manager of the Pahiatua branch of Messrs Abraham and Williams, intends leaving shortly on a trip to England." He expects to be absent from- the Dominion for about six months.
