The committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association intends making a presentation to Mr J. B. Moodie, at the annual meeting of the Association next month. Mr H. J. Bannister, of Whareama, was on Saturday elected a junior member of the Masterton' A. and P. Association. The 'many friends of Mr Joseph Carpenter, of Masterton, will regret to hear that he hag been in very indifferent health of late, and has been confined to his house for some days. Mr William Watson, one of the directors of the Bank of New Zealand, is confined to a private hospital in Wellington. Miss Marie Motto, the volinist who is *o give a recital in the Exchange Hall on Thursday evening nest, was <a visitor to Masterton on Saturday. The death occurred on Saturday of Mr John Robert Mills, a weld-known business man at Riverton, and a very old resident of Southland. —Press AsNorth last week of Mrs Crosse, wife sociation,. Police-Superintendent Ellison paid ■a visit to Pahiatua at the latter end of last week. The death occurred at Palmerston North last week of Mrs Crosse, wfe of Mr T. Crosse, of Hunterville. The deceased had resided in the Weber district for twenty years or more. The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital on Saturday evening of Mrs F. Davis. The deceased lady had been ailing for eom» yine with heart trouble, and waa it year s of age. Her daughter, Mrs ft. C. Morris, of Masterton, will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in her bereavement The funeral will leave the residence of Mr Morris, 186 Dixon Street, at 2.30 p.m. to-dny, for • the Masterton cemetery.
