THE NORTHERN EPIDEMIC.
A OASE AT THE THAMES. (By Tdearaph. — Press Association.) THAMES, Last Night. Up to the present, the Thames has been immune from the epidemic, but on Saturday an elderly Native who was staying at one of the local hotels displayed alarming symptoms. The police and health officer were informed. The man was taken to the hospital and isolated. eruptions ihadi appeared on his face, though otherwise the Native appefcred in good health. The disease is believed to be similar to that manifested elsewhere. The man attacked came from Ragkn. So far as can be 'ascertained, it is the only case reported. ■» The- bathroom and room at [the hotcLjavhere the Native stayed ■were fumigated under the supervision of tho Health Department, On Satj iitday, telegraphio information was received, forbidding any person, vehicular or steam ship company fnra allowing Natives or luilf-oastes to . travel iinless, they produce <a- certificate from the Health Department authorising them to travel.
