MILITARY AND CIVILIAN INJURED. TERMS OF FINAL SETTLEMENT. (Received Last Night, 11.45 o'clock.) JOHANNESBURG, July 11. Six police and three Dragoons have been sent to the hospital, suffering from injuries sustained in the riots. Sixteen civilians, twenty-five police, and twenty-three of the military are being treated for minor injuries. The New Kleinfontein strike-break-ers will receive a year's wages as compensation for their removal. When the final terms of settlement are being discussed, the Federated Trades Unions will endeavour to secure the recognition of the Unions, an eight hours day, a minimum wage, and the repeal of the Industrial Disputes Act. The latter was practically a dead-letter throughout the recent crisis. The mine-owners claim that had the Act been enforced the strike could never have extended beyond the Kleinfontein trouble. A meeting of a thousand Trade Unionists at Pretoria passed a resolution, urging the recall of Viscount Gladstone.. The railwaymen's secretary has announced that a demand lias been formulated, and' the men will strike in six days, unless the Governmentconcedes this demand.
