FIRE AT A RESORT.
PLIGHT OF PICNIC PEOPLE.
(Received July. 1, 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 30. A fire destroyed a trestle bridge Cxmnecting Rockaway Beach with Long Island. Fifty thousand picnicers were compelled to sleep in the open throughout the night. A train crossing the trestle bridge caught fire, but the flames were ex tinguished before a panic .started.
