THE POLICE FORCE.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION,

WELLINGTON, Saturday. At a meeting of the Auckland branch of the Police Association, Mr Rosser, Dominion organiser, reported on his recent southern tour.' He states. that promises of support had been received on every hand. A large number of members on both the Government and Opposition side of the House had promised to do all in tlioir power to further tho interests of the police in Parliament. In Dunedin only two men, and in lnvercargill one had stood out from tho Association, while tho more recently established branches in Cliristehurch and Wellington were gaining members every day. TJie ivcent unasked-t'or transfers of members who had taken a prominent part in tho discussion at tlie inquiry held by the Minister of Justice was adversely commented upon, several speakers expressing tho opinion that the members in question had been exiled to out of the way stations. The secretary stated that every member of Parliament had been circularised in the interests of the Association, the rules of the Association being enclosed.
