THE FISHING INDUSTRY.
Wo are very pleased to observe that the Government proposes doing something to stimulate the fishing industry in New Zealand waters. This industry lias been neglected tor years past. In, many of tho townships in Now Zealand, fish jix<» nover seen. The waters around the Dominion are literally teeming with tht: i'inny tribe, and yet sooros of families are living, as it wore "upon the srao.ll of an oil rag." If the Govenrnont can so develop the industry that fish will be available at a reasonable* oost in all parts of the Dominion, it'will confer a lasting benefit upon the community.
