THE SAVINGS BANK.
A correspondent draws attention to tho inconvenience tliat is suffered through depositors in the Post Office Savings Bank at Masterton being unable to make withdrawals on demand. Tho delay is, in many cases, highly inconvenient: Under the postal regulations, which appear to us to be altogether too exacting, the Chief Post Offico in Wellington has to bo consulted beforo a withdrawal can be made, in an important district like Masterton, such a reguhtion would r*soem to l>e quite The matter is of such importance that it should be looked into by the Chamber of Commerce and the member for the district. The business transacted at the Masterton Post Office has assumed such, proportions that we niight almost claim that wo are entitled to the conveniences of a Chief Post Office.
