In the Police Court at Carterton on Thursday, before Messrs F. Feist and W. F. Roydhouse, J.'sP., a young man nam 3d Neil Ha»nnah, was -committed for trial at the next" sitting of ObUrt at 'SlLtisterton dn September, on a charge of attempting a serious offence on a young girl" named Constance Bishop. Bail was allowed, in accused's surety of £SO, and two sureties of £SO each. Mr H. Hart appeared for accused. Mr J. P. Prebensen, of Brooklyn road, Dalefield, has sold his farm to Mr Geo. Thomas, of that district. | Mr O. H. Bowen, teller at the local branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has received notice of his transfer to Palmerston NorQi.
