ANNUAL WINTER SALE.
AT HUGO AND SHEARER'S. It is rather a big thing to claim for any sale that it is "the biggest bargain event that Masterton ever thought of." Yet this is what Messrs Hugo and Shearer confidently claim for their annual winter sale, which will commence to-morrow (Friday), and a perusal of the inset circulated with this issue will bear out what the firm say. Prices have been cut to such an extent that" it seems wonderful to the ordinary lay-nan how reliable goods can be sold at such & figure. However, Messrs Hugo and Shearer state that they must clear a large quantity of stock, arid the way to indue© the public to buy quickly is to offer them genuine "plums." The quality of the stock is well known—and it is all fresh and wellselected, and now it is known that the blue pencil has been so busy in mark-ing-down work, there is bound to be a busy time for the staff to-morrow. The store will be closed all day today, making final arrangements for the sale.
