At the Railway Appeal Board sitting yesterday, Ernest Austin Tonkin's appeal Avas further heard, and the Board reserved its "decision. S. Wright, station-master at Carterton, and J. M. Wilson, clerk at Master»ton, appealed against being susper»ed by J. Mason and J. H. Hunt. Decision was reserved. E. Cloke, storeman at Wellington, appealed against his reduction to the status of a porter, for allowing an improperly-loaded waggon to be attached to a train. The waggon was loaded with iron, and was derailed at Ngaio. A depurtmentnl enquiry resulted in improper loading being held responsible, and Cloke was reduced. The appeal was allowed.
