COLLIE DOG TRIALS.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS. The championship events in connection with the North Island Collie Dog Association's anmi:il trials were concluded on Mr Walter Cameron's property at Te Ore Ore yesterday. The weather was again fine, and there wa s a large attendance of interested persons. The results were as follow :

CLASS II.; Championship Short Head and Yarding Competition.—W. Wliyte's "Boy," 38 points out of possible -10, 1; S. Kennedy's "Boss Junr," 36, 2; C. S. Hay's "Surprise," 33, 3; A. Beaton's "Smut," C. S. Hay's "Sir Walter," W. H. Gaisford's "Hemp," H. Clarke's "Gyp," all bracketed with 32 points.

W. Wliyte's "Boy."—Started to the left, went out freely ou good line and headed very well, had some trouble in getting his sheep to draw at start of pulling; afterwards kept iVgood course to flags and got through in good style; drove to yard and penned first attempt in first-class style; command and style very good; headed in lmin 4sec; total time. Ilium 51 sec.

S. Kennedy's "Boss .Tunr."—Started to the left; went out freely on good line, and headed well; brought back on good line, hut rather rash and wingy, and darted in on his sheep once; got through flags first try; missed hurdles and split the™ once; got through in good style s econd try; yarded second attempt in good style; command good ; style good. Headed Ui lmin 3sec; total time, 13min 31sec.

0. S. Hay's "Surprise." —C.ist to tho left; crossed his line to right; came back and cut out on good course, but stood on wing of his sheep some time before heading; *pulled on good line, but let one sheep break away at fence lino; got through flags in good form ; very slack driving to hurdles, and took long time to get them through; did fair work at yard; commaanl and style fair. CLASS III: HUNTAWAY.

P. L. McKenzie's "Lad," 30, 2 T Sheridan's "Pike," 29, 3. F. Shekleton's '"Mick," 28, 4. JUDGE'S REMARKS.

C. S.. Hay's "Tweed."—Hunted on good lino to first set of flags, and got through on good line; kept fair line to second flags, and got through by narrow margin, did good work to last set, and got through them on fair line. Style fair; command good. Time, Bmin 55sec. P. L. McKonzie's "Lad."—Let his sheep off the course at start; then did good-till tho second «et of flags, which he missed; brought back sheep and got through in good style, and through last sot in fair line. Style uiul command good. Time, llmin Bisoc.

T. Sheridan's "Pike." —(lot through first ,set of flags on fair <:ours'o and good style, but was too rash, and knocked bis «hcep up; got them going again,' but missed second «ot of flags; headed, brought baek, and got through at second attempt, through last set by narrow margin ; style and command good. Time, 9min 50seo. F. ShekletoiiVs "Mick."—Let bis sheep off tho course to the right, at tho start; got them back, but wasted a lot of time without making any progross, and missed first set of fl'.igs ; bnnight back and got tlirough at second attempt in good stylo; also second and last set; worked too wide at times; command and stylo good. Full time.
