MASTERTON PICTURE COMPANY

A BIG ENTERTAINMENT

There was a big audience at the Town Hall last evening, when the Mastei'ton Picture and Entertainment Company again screened the fine series of pictures in the current programme. The audience were delighted with the various films, and showed their appreciation by prolonged applause. In drama, comedy, and\ scenic films the programme was a rare one, each photoplay being distinct and of exceptional merit. The star item—"Model of St. John"—was splendidly received, and the applause was woll deserved, as rarely has a finer display being made. "Th*> Thunderbolt," as its would suggest, thrills with excitement, the episodes portrayed being full of wonderfully dramatic power, while the staging and setting add th?ir quota to the general excellence of the film. "Four Bavs a Widow"" is a screamingly funuiy comic, and fairly brought the house down. "Jim's Joy Day" and "The Hand Bag" were equally , amusing. A fine drama is shown eni titled "having the»&ame."' "Sernic--1 one" is a scenic picture of high 1 merit, and completes a really excellent and entertaining programme. To-morrow afterrnoon the usual matinee takes place and in the evening a special change programme may be looked forward to.
