PROGRESS OF MASTERTON.
It is satisfactory to be able to report that there is every . indication of a return of. prsoperous times for Masterton. During the last few years the town has suffered from a reaction after a boom; but this has been slowly worn down, and to-day there is evidence of a marked activity in all classes Of business. For some months past it has been almost irn|>6ssible to secure am empty house in' the 'town, and. the demand for business .premises has been very keen. Building operations of an extensive character are now in progress,- and the outlook for the future, is most encouraging. Surrounded as it is by magnificent country, and supported by wealthy and enterprising settlers, Masterton will yet become one or the largest and most,,flourishing inland towns" in the Dominion.
