CAPTURE OP THIEF. (Received This Mornmg, 12.30 o'clock.) SYDNEY, May 19.. A burglary occurred in the GeJorge Hotel, Pitt Street. A constable saw a man leaving, and a long chase ensued. The policeman fired five shots from a revolver, and closing on tli ? burglar hurled the empty weapon and struck the refugee on the shoulder, causing him to stagger. • The captured burglar had the contents of the hotel safe in liis possession, which consisted of £os fiind jewellery valued at £3O. .-The rifled goods , were all recovered/ Money was strewn along the line of flight.
