THE TIMARU TROUBLE.
FREEZING WORKS MANNED FOR SEASON.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association. 1 TIMARU, Last Night. A number of Unionists turned up to work the steamer John this morning. After the dinner hour, five of them asked the agent if he Mas aware that non-unionists were at work. The agent said he was not concerned with that question. Four of the five left off, and the fifth returned to work, stating that he needed the funds. The places of the four were s oon filled with free men. The meat ship Kai Ora is due tomorrow or the next day. Curiosity exists as to whether the Unionists will offer to work her, if there are not enough free men about. Some of these have expressed annoyance that Unionists were employed this morning. Both of the freezing works are manned sufficiently to see the season through. Some of the Unionist men have gone elsewhere.
