The weother experienced during the last three week s has been the roughest for many seasons and is beginning to tell on stock, an unusual occurrence for the month of May. In the face of rough weather amusements seem to keep up with the times in Our little settlement. The Foresters' annual social took place on Friday night, being postponed from the sth insfc. The Cricket Club hold a ball on Friday next, and then the School Committee will commence a series of assemblies. .1. would now suggest that the milk suppliers who have had a most prosperous year, should hold a grand ball, they being the only ones not on the list. Mr Combs has received advice that ha lias passed his B examination with honours. The cold snap has had the effect of drying off the dairy herds, the factory only running on alternate days and, the supply is rapidly decreasing. The new library is now in circulation at the school, about thirty new books being added to the list, and should be much appreciated during the long evenings. With the fall of the year the usual amount of sickness seems to be amongst us, although not quite so severe as twelve months back. A number of minor cases of illness have been reported-
