FIRE IN MASTERTON.
SMALL COTTAGE DESTROYED
The Masterton-Fire Brigade received a call at 9.15 last evening to a> fire in a four-roomed cottage situated on the corner of Chapel and MichaelDixon Streets. The cottage was owned by Mrs Marley, and occupied by Mr R. McGregor. The brigade were promptly on the scene, and soon had the flames under control. The buiildiiig was gutted, the only piece of furniture to be saved being A- sewing machine. The furniiture also belonged to Mrs Marley, and was uninsured. The building was insured, but the amount was not ascertainable last night. At the time of the outbreak, Mrs McGregor, who is slightly deaf, was in the house with an P.nfant child. Mr McGregor having taken two —elder children to the pictures. It is not known how the outbreak occurred. /
