EXPERT'S REPORT

(Received Last Night, 10 o'clock.) BORART, May 12. The expert appointed by the Government to examine the Mt. Lyell Companies' 'mines, reports that th■ mines are well and skilfully worked, comparing favourably with the best in his experience.. Every regard is paid to the safety of the employees. The charges of uhsafety in tlio main shafts, founded on, last year's disasters, must be regarded as abnormal mishaps.
