Society, Uio Chairman reported another record year, ib funds had reached the imposing figure of £30,007,(55?r Tho Society's business was, he said, a true reflox of tho general conditions prevailing ii Australasia. Given good seasons, :: -Reasonably enlightoned Government, and a due sewse «$ responsibility of the people in the Commonwealth an> New Zealand, nothing could imp.-de the Society's triumphant march. The returns from the juondon branch continued to improve steadily. . The new business-' im» ivaw Zealand" constituted a record, .as the mortgages at December 31st amounted to £3,000.000, and of that sum not a single penny was in arrears. Dr MaoOonnick was. elected a director in .place of Mr B. Short, deceased. The other Directors were reelected. The Chairman promised that th Directors would consider a suggestion for granting a bonus to the staff.
