A MENACE TO SAFETY.

A few weeks back one of the concrete knobs that ornamented, the Masterton Post Office became detached during an earthquake, andkilled an aboriginal native. The public is in fear and trembling that there will be another earthquake, or a hurricane, and that one or two of the remaining knobs will be tumbled off, with possibly further fatal results. It is th • duty of the Public Works Department, or whoever has control of the public buildings, to 8?e that these useless ornaments, which are only at tached to the main building by a piece of cement, are immediately removed. If another accident were to occur, the Government would be mor-, ally, if not legally; responsible.
