("Received May 7, 10 a.m.) liGNDON, May 6. A crowded mooting of the Victoria League was held at the Guildhall. Captain Coll urns (representing Sir George Reid), tlie Agents/General, Lord and Lady Sydenham, the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney, Ladies Talbot, Betty Balfour, and Rayleigh were, a mong those present. r J"ho President, tlie Countess of Jersey, outlined the League's work, particularly referring to the Bureau of Lnfnimation work* in. introducing immigration to the Overseas branches •of the League. Earl Grey said tlie growing selfrespect of Overseas Britons was making it impossible for them to remain passengers instead of rowers in tlie imperial boat; hence some form of organic union was necessary. Mr Watt, Premier of Victoria, in a stirring address, eulogised the work of tlie associated bodies of the Victoria League m Australia, which was stimulating and cementing the spirit of Empire, by such, work as correspondence between children, th!e reception of overseas visitors, the exchange of flags between schools, and the fostering of sentiment, which was one of the strongest buttresses for the (future of the Empire.
