MR ROBERT SEMPLE.
SENT Tg GAOL, [By Telegraph —PfM\ Association.) GREYMOUTH, Last Night. Robert Semple, organiser of the Federation of Labour, was lodged in gaol to-day for failure to pay a fine of £4 for refusing- to give information required under the Defence Act. The alternative was one month's imprisonment. [Mr Sempie refused to give information concerning the date of registration of the birth of one of his boys.]
