EXPERIENCE ON NORWECIAN SHIP. DISEASE AND SHORTAGE OF FOOD.
(Received l;asb Night, 8.45 o'clock.) FREMANTLE, May 5. A boat containing four sick and famished men has arrived at Donga rra from the Norwegian ship Victor, bound from Delagoa Bay to NewCaledonia, which was then 40 miles off the Coast and practically in an abandoned condition. The men stated that there was disease aboard the snip, and she was short of provisions. They as?ked for assistancce to navigate her to port. From accounts given by the men, it appears that after leaving Delagoa Bay they ran into a storm, which damaged the vessel. Disease broke out, and the Captain and Chief Officer died on April Bth. Two of the crew died on the 10th, and others later. The food ran short some time before they made the Westralian Coast, and those aboard were too few and weak to navigate the vessel. Assistance has been sent.
