'tli© General Purposes Committee of the Clydesdale Horse Society of the Dominion of New Zealand (Incorporated) met in the registered office of the Society, 87, Crawford street, Duinedin, on Thursday, April 24th. Present—Mr J. A. Johnstone (in the chair), and Messrs Jas. W. Blair, W. J. J. Charters, and Geo. C. Thomson. The following were elected members of the Society: James Kilpatrick, Oraigie Mains, Ayr., Sootland. North Island: J. N. Massey, Puni, Pukekohe; J. C. O'Biorke, Sea View, Oanui, Taranaki. .South Island: Jas. Drain, Cloverly, Spar Bush; John Bunipace, Jlosedale Farm, Dipton; Thos. H. Edwards, Norfolk Lea, Tai panui; Wm. Stormouth, Drummond; Michael Lawlor, Gore; George Morrison, Rosedale, Waikaka; Chas. Thomson, Braemore, Kelso; Jas. Ure Wallace, Athelstane, Clinton. Accounts amounting to £67 19s were passed for payment. Tlie annual gsineral meeting of members will be held in Palmerston North during the Winter Show, and the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17th, was fixed upon as being the most suitable date.. The secretary reported that the balance on deposit amd im the bank was £&3 l 8s Bd. Mr Johnstone reported that the 50 guineas Challenge Cup by his firm, Weight, Stephenson and Co., Lid., had come to hand, and invited the committee to inspect, it. The committee expressed the opinion that never before had tliey seen a oup so ihandsome and chaste and that it was well worth making a great effort to win.
