BUTCHERS' STRIKE.
RESOLUTIONS CARRIED. (By 'l'elooTaph..—■-twit* A x&orintinr\.) TIMARTJ, Last Night. A meeting was held! to-night of the SmithfieJd butchers, who ceased work, f and assistants. Delegates from the Waterside Workers' Union Z? and Freezing Unions were present s l>y invitation. A motion earned ) > unanimously calling on the Pareora Freezing Works hands and water- * Riders to make common cause with the Smith field men. and it was detcided to give "free" butchers 25 hours to join the Union, failing which killing to cease at Pareora, anrf watersiders to refuse to handle meat killed ..* by "free" labour. These revolutions need confirmation by the respective unions. A mass meeting is to be held on Sunday to discuss the situation.
