PAHIATUA SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., r«po.it as follows: At our Palriatua sal* yesterday in the Farmers' Yards, we* had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Prices, when compared with last sale, were a little easier, especially with lambs, and values were low;r by from 6d to Ib. Good ewes and wethers sold at up to late rates, and any good lines of the latter sheep offering were readily saleable; In sheep some of our principal sales were as follow: 2-th ewes and wethers 15s Id, good lambs 9s Id to !'; lOd, fair lambs Zs 6d to Bs, cull iambs 4s to 4s 9d, poor con. breeding ewes 8s 9d, empty ewes 8s to 9s. !n cattle we had a fair yarding, but competition- was not too keen and a. number of lines were passed out unsold. Seme of our sales comprised: cows £4 is, empty .store o*o> £2 15s to £3 7s 6d, 2-yr heifers £4, weaner heifer calves 27s 6d to 30s, steer calves 265, 2-yr steers £3 15s.
TARATAHI SALE.
Dalgety and Co. report as'follows: —At our Taratahi sale on Monday we had a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle, all yarding aecommodatibn being taxed to the utmost. Buyers were present from all parts of ithe diistriot, and the sale was in every way a satisfactory one. We> had isome good quality lambs to offer and these sold at prices up to,.late market ra,te%. Jhere wa s also a. fair demand for eattlo, and most lines found a ready sale under the hammer. Some of the prices realised were as under:—Forward blacks, factt lambs 10s Id to 12s, wliite face woolly lambs 8s 6d to 9s 2d, fair empty ewes 8 S 6d to 8s Bd, forward 2-tooth, wethers, good lino 16s 3d; a nice line of Romney ewe lambs on account of Mr E. Eagle, jun., made 12s sd; fat and forward lambs 14s 2d, 6-tooth breeding ewes 14s Od. The yarding of cattle was exceptionally heavy, and for good heifers competition was keen. We isold as under: Heifer s (early calvens) £7 5s to £7 7s 6d. 12 heifers (July-August calvers) £6 2s 6d, dairy oows £4 "to £R 12*, eowsf and calves £4 to £5 10s, 18-mon,ths steers £3 to £3 17s 6d, empty cows £3 8s to £3 15s, extra good springing heifers £ll, bulls £3 10s to £5 ss, heifer calves 25s to 325. 6d, steer ealve s 23s to 30s.
