I MR CHURCHILL ANGRY. REFUSES TO BE MOLLIFIED. (Received April 29, 11 a.m.) LONDON, April 28. Before the Parliamentary Committee inquiring into the contract between the Marconi Wireless Telegraphy Co. and the British Post Office, Mr Ellis Powell, managing editor of the Financial News, gave evidence" that on 18th April there was a crowd of /stockbrokers and the public clamouring for Marconi shares, while four insiders—Messrs Heybourne (a stockbroker), Harry Isaacs, and (Marconi and Sir Rufus Isaacs (Attorney-Gen-eral), dominated and controlled the market. Mr Powell, under pressure, admitted that he had heard rumours tfeafc Mr Churchill had invested in Marconi shares, but he had not believed. the .rumours. Mr Churchill, who was indignant, called to give evidence. The charge. he said, was most insulting, and was bas?d on tittle-tattle. He had never dealt with Marconi shares, and if anyone said so he was a liar and * slanderer. The Chairman assured Mr OFrarcßill that he had only given him ait opportunity to deny the charge, but Mr Churchill refused to be mollified, and walked out indignantly..
