ORINGI CAMP.
THE FINAL OPERATIONS. A SUCCESSFUL FIELD DAY. * (By Telegraph. — Press Association.) DANNKVIRKE, Last Night. The Oringi encampment was brought,.to a conclusion to-day, when the troops had a field day. Early in the morning* they left camp to drive out a suppositious enemy south of Oringi. The operations concluded at noon. The attacker s went out in extended, order, covering a huge tract, of ground, and did their work effectively for recruits at the -practical war games. General Godley spent the morning watching the field operations, and the afternoon in camp inspection. The General considered the work of the men was very good, considering, it was "'their'.first attempt at anything of the kind. He was also pleased at the general condition and arrangement of the camp, which he considered one of the bast, in this respect, held in New: Zfealand. He returns to Wellington' to-morrow. The'whole .of the .Territorials will be out of camp.and; on their way home by 2.40 "to-morrow? During the operations this morning, a.Gisborne Territorials named Norman Ingram accidentally discharged a blank cartridge into one of his hands, the wad' remaining embedded in the flesh. Ho was taken to the Dannevirke Hospital. Charles Sole and James Mu-rcott, of New Plymouth, were also taken there, suffering from chest complaints. Seven of those previously in the institution, left tenday, and the others are ; progressing splendidly.
